4 month sleep regression

If you have been following us, you know that we are having a bit of a problem sleeping. Our excellent sleepers have disappeared only to be replaced by children who act more like 6 week olds than 4 month olds. Poor Greg last night got all of 2-3 hours of sleep. Mom doesn't help matters much because she is also tired of being up every hour to tend to one baby or another.
There is actually a term for this and apparently a lot of four month olds go through it. Sleep regression, formally excellent sleepers stop sleeping for more than 3 hours (or less) at a time. They stop napping and generally become big stinkers. Of course it seems even more problematic because Mom and Dad are both back at work. We are definitely going to have to come up with a plan on how to handle it. Of course a common suggestion is to start cereal. Miles is ready, so we are giving it a try. Camden is not quiet as open to it. I am really trying to bolster my milk production, Miles also seems to need some additional formula at night. I think exclusive breast feeding is coming to an end. It hasn't helped as of yet. Theories are it is an intellectual developmental thing (like rolling over is a physical developmental thing) and when they reach the milestone they will start to sleep again. Of course, there are other milestones to be met in the future.
So keep us in your thoughts...

18 weeks

It has been an exhausting week. Miles has stopped sleeping for more than a few hours (4) at night. This has been really frustrating because at one time he was sleeping up to 8. Camden has been doing great, but we cannot decide whether to separate the boys, move somebody back in to our room or what. Do they need to go to bed earlier? Is he hungry? Is he just wanting to be social? All in all we thought some of our hardest days were behind us, but now we're not so sure. There have been lots of tears on everybody's part.
On top of that, I crushed my foot at work. So, it has been hard to take the boys for a walk or even walk around the house. It is throbbing at the end of the day. And yes, it hurts as bad as it looks.

They do occasionally notice each other and talk, it is cute.

17 weeks

Lots of smiles this week!

We have upgraded to the bigger baby bath. Camden and Miles love bath time.

Miles is really enjoying splashing around. We have had to move off the counter and into the bathtub.

Miles has been supporting his own weight for a week or so. If he could walk, I'm sure he would!
Camden was extremely talkative today. They are oh so sweet!

Happy Valentine's Day!

What a sweetheart day it was. We took the boys to Panera bread for breakfast-they were wonderful! Mom got "Mary Poppins." It has been fun sharing such a classic and of course, you have to sing along.
Mom and Dad got Friday evening off thanks to Nana and Poppa Baker. It was nice to be out by ourselves, but of course, you talk of little else but the kids.
Miles is ready to run. Not sit up, not walk, but run. This kid is going to be hard to catch when he gets older.

16 weeks- reaching for the gold

It has been a busy week! Greg and I have now been back to work for two weeks- only 14 more until summer break :) It has been hard. Neither baby is crazy about taking from a bottle. Daddy can sometimes coax an ounce or two into them, but not before a bit of crying. It always breaks Mommy's heart when she calls and hears them crying in the background. We have tried many bottles and nipples, but nothing seems to work. I am not quite sure what else to do.... so send soem encouragement to Greg to keep trying and not get frustrated!
Miles and Camden have started to reach for their toys- both are working hard to shake rattles and make some noise!

These are some of our favorite outfits- aren't they cute?

15 weeks

We're getting closer and closer to 3 months old. Because the boys were premature, we always have to take 3 weeks off of their age. It seems to take forever to make it to the next month. Things have been going pretty well. Greg and I have been back to work for a week. Feedings are the hardest thing to do by yourself, followed by their still somewhat erratic sleep schedule. Greg and I can get about 5-6 hours of uninterrupted sleep per night (if we go to bed when they do), but from 2-5a.m. we're up pretty regularly with both boys. It will probably continue to be a challenge to improve the schedule until school is out. Although I complain, I really have no complaints. They are good babies, patient with each other and Mom and Dad (as patient as 15 week old infants can be).

Afternoon nap-

Camden this morning- bright blue eyes!
Sorry- I uploaded these multiple times and they will not flip.
