Greg and Miles

A while back I posted pictures of myself and Camden, because I think that it is eerie how much we look alike. Greg's mom dug through his old pictures, and I must admit that Greg looks an awful lot like Miles. This is really great because when Miles is a stinker (which is a good part of the time), I hand him over to Greg and remind him that I'm sure his Mom wanted him to have a son just like him. I think my favorite Goodrich story is the one where his Mom and Dad used to tell Greg to "run around the house until I get tired." I have a feeling that we will be using that on Miles.

11 weeks

Time is flying by! I go back to work in 2 weeks- it's hard to believe that just 11 weeks ago I was still pregnant. It seems like the boys have been around forever.
Things are going well. Last night they slept for 8 hours and 10 minutes uninterrupted. This was 8 hours and 50 minutes between feedings. Just when I think, "I should go pump." They usually wake up. I am very proud of Camden. Sleeping for long periods of time (at night) is a challenge for him. Here are some fresh pictures. We hope that you are all enjoying your snow!

Camden with a somewhat rare smile.

Cooing- This isn't all them, Greg and I egg them on some, but listen closely.

2 month check up

We had our 2-month check-up today and everything is going wonderful. Both boys are growing by leaps and bounds. The Dr. is very proud of our exclusive breastfeeding schedule. I must admit that I am too. Each sleeps about 6-7 hours per night (especially with a little coaxing from Mom and Dad).
Miles weighs 12#4.5oz and is 23"
Camden weighs 11# 8oz and is 23.25"
Miles looks a little bigger than Camden, but Camden really uses that .25" to his advantage; he is long and lean.
Both boys are meeting their developmental milestones. They have been smiling and cooing and lifting their heads very well.
I go back to work at the end of the month, so we have been practicing what it will be like without me home all day. Fortunately Greg and I get to share daycare duties and the boys will get to stay home.
We hope that everyone is having a good New Year and I will get pictures up soon.

The cats like naptime as much as the babies (probably more so). They often join us for the morning, afternoon and evening naps!

Our first outing

Having twins makes everything doubly fun, but also doubly challenging! We had our first out of town outing yesterday and Mom is so proud of us all! Mom and Dad wanted some different food for New Year's, so we ventured to Whole Foods in Nashville.
We tolerated the car ride well- taking a small nap. Hung out in the Baby Bijorn (a baby tote) and baby sling without much complaint. We visited our first public restroom AND we nursed! It was a very full and exciting day. We were so tired at the end of the day. Camden fell asleep without much supper and Miles shortened his dinner too- we just couldn't stay awake. It is possible and hopefully we will try again soon.
Happy New Year to everyone!

I don't know if you all have heard of this, but I thought it was an awesome idea. St. Jude's recycles old greeting cards- just look at this:

I hope you have one just like you

Newborn pictures- Who is Mom and who is Camden?

Poor Kid.

First Christmas

Busy, Busy, Busy! I thought the holidays were hectic before I had kids.... Things have been going very well and the boys (and parents) had an awesome Christmas. Auntie Emily and Auntie Mary came over for Christmas brunch and pleasantly enough the boys slept through the whole thing. As a Christmas present to Mom and Dad, the Aunties spent the afternoon with the boys while Mom and Dad saw "Sherlock Holmes" and pigged out on popcorn and candy at the movies. Regardless to the fact that they won't remember a thing, the boys were completely spoiled- toys and clothes abound. Santa brought them an "exersaucer" that will be wonderful in a couple of more months.
We regularly go 6 hours (usually from 7-1) between meals- so we are slowly growing up. Mom and Dad try to keep us on a little schedule, because in less than a month, Mom will be back at work.

I love my Daddy!
We are trying to get the boys to nap- but they prefer to play (especially Miles). BUT if we lay with them they will sleep 2+ hours- what a way to spend an afternoon! Miles is "paci-impaired." He cannot keep a pacifier in his mouth (although he loves it if you hold it for him), even though it soothes him greatly. As you can see Miles holds his head up nicely, and can roll over from front to back. Camden is increasing his vocabulary daily (n-gee, n-goo, and has a wider vocal range) and in general is the patient one of the two.
We hope you all had an excellent Christmas and hopefully Mom will have more time for posting in the future.
