97 weeks

Our babies are 97 weeks old! Really that just means that they are almost 2! It is hard to believe that their birthday is almost here. It doesn't seem so long ago that I was making plans for their 1st birthday...
They have been busy (as always).
"I think I want one of.... everything!"
"Me too!"

Camden showing off his use of 'product.'
Chillin' at Starbucks.
You could almost read 1/2 a paragraph of the newspaper they were so still.

And yes, I finally caught them in the middle of twin cuteness!! They really do love each other and here's proof!
"I love my brabra!"

Bittersweet end of summer

As we look forward to the coolness of fall, we say a sad goodbye to our summer. It was great! We commemorated the event at a Hot Rods game. Taking in the sights and sounds of sunshine.

"Not now Mama, I'm watching the game."

"I always have time for a cute shot!"

Grandma and Grandpa visit 2

Grandma and Grandpa Farnbach returned Monday to sunny (and HOT) AZ. These are a few shots from their last days here with us.

Miles enjoyed "driving" the Corvette.

Never go anywhere without a car.

Our last lunch together was at our local DQ. Love that ice cream!

finger painting and mammoth cave

With summer drawing to a close, we have been trying to get in a few more activities. Finger painting, while fun, is extremely messy. Of course, I am always worrying about how much finger paint they are consuming also! So, I thought I would try finger paint that is actually made for eating! I may regret this one day when they are eating their finger paint in kindergarten or painting my walls with their dessert, but for now it is working!!

We took a hike in Mammoth cave National Park last weekend. They boys did great! There were some high points, and low points, but definitely an experience that we will learn from.

This was mine and Camden's view of Miles and Dad for most of the hike.

An itty-bitty snake.

Checking out the views.
Got our gear on!

At one point, visitors were brought to the park via train. One of these trains continues to be on display.

"How far is it back to the car?"
We were all hot and tired by this point!!

playing in the rain

It has been SOOO HOT. We were planning a trip to Jackson's while G-ma and G-pa were here, but I just couldn't see voluntarily going out in the heat. Then it started raining :) The boys love to play outside, no matter what the weather, each and every morning. So we put on our swimsuits and headed out to play in the puddles. We played for about 45 minutes before it got too COLD!

The best way to play with puddles is to sit down in them.

Camden is fun to watch "jump!" I think they are catching on....
Miles did this step about...100 times and would clap every time. What a wonderful achievement!

Grandma and Grandpa, can I have one?

Grandma and Grandpa Farnbach are here this week, so we are having fun and playing and playing and playing.

We went to the Corvette Museum and explored all the cars and exhibits.

"Gimme speed!"

"How do you get this thing outta 2nd gear?"

"A kid's gotta eat!"

93 weeks old

I would like to say that I have lots of cute pictures to post from our recent trip to Nashville, but I left my camera in the car. Trust me, you don't leave the other parent in a strange city with two roaming toddlers just for the camera.
We had a very nice trip down (Nashville is about 1 hour away). We are beginning to really like music and in particular Laurie Berkner. They make some of the animal sounds and I imagine it won't be too far off before they are singing right along with Mama. We love passing construction sites and semi-trucks. For the most part, the boys do well (I always have a fresh toy in hand).
Grandma and Grandpa Farnbach are coming tomorrow, so we spent most of our time at Trader Joes getting lots of extra fun stuff to eat. The boys will point out apples and bananas and talk (as best they can) about what they are seeing. It is great to see how many words they will try. Like any child, they loved the chicken nuggets and french fries that Joes was sampling today. Camden got a little restless towards the end, so the two boys pushed around the child sized shopping carts and loved it. I'm not sure how the patrons or management of Joes felt about it.
Being around all that food worked up an appetite and we embarked on our most courageous eating endeavor to date: The Cheesecake Factory. Camden can be somewhat grumpy if he is hungry and needless to say, he was a bear today. We were seated quickly and thank goodness we had a very understanding waiter- he was a twin too! The boys scarfed down their spinach dip while waiting for their other food. We knew it was going well when our happy Camden was back. It is, how shall I put it, an adventure to dine out with twin toddlers (I imagine it is quite an adventure with one child too). Really, I don't remember what I had or even if I ate. This can be a blessing and a curse, sometimes I really don't eat much expect their rejects and sometimes I eat a huge meal AND their rejects. I may come away hungry or STUFFED.
Greg says that we should really be monetarily compensated for the entertainment that we provide. Sometimes we should pay those around us for putting up with our antics :)
