What we did this summer

As Sunday closes, our summer is over. Although we are all sad, we are looking forward to the fall with cooler weather, our birthday and visitors! What did we do this summer?
Learned to sit up, crawl and stand
Grew teeth
Got a haircut
Spent lots of time with Mom and Dad
Slept together in our own room
Read books

Played with puzzles (they love going to Barnes and Nobles)

Played with trains
Got a New Ride!!

Camden is wondering if this is a fuel efficient as the Prius

2011 Toyota Sienna

We are just c-u-t-e!!

Helped out Mom!

Just in case you were wondering he walked for 5 minutes before taking a break.

He is crawling!! What a guy.

I'm sure this will be one of their favorite party tricks.

Camden is squealing with fun! Greg is playing with a top. It is great to see them so excited.

Camden's first!

Miles has somewhat monopolized on being first, but Camden got the first haircut! Camden's hair had regularly been getting tangled and it was causing him pain to comb it at night. So, we ventured to Master Cuts today for this momentus first occasion.

Before

After.
Don't you think it makes him look younger? This was Charity our hair dresser. Very talented and worked well with a moving target.

10 months old!!

I cannot believe that their first birthday is just two months away. It has been quite a year. We have come so far! Both boys pulled themselves up. Miles has 'christened' his crib- I am sure it will be something to laugh about when he is older, but I most certainly did not expect him to eat the wood the way that he has. I am sure it is about to get worse because I saw the upper teeth peaking out today. Camden has cut his secone bottom tooth. He likes to chew, but not nearly as much as Miles.
School starts in a week and Mommy is going to miss her babies. I can't promise the blog will be as updated as it has always been, but then again Mom is always looking for ways to procrastinate.

I always feel like, somebody's watching me.... (look at the incredible floating kitty above their heads)

Oh, it's just Eli!

on the move...

Miles is on the move! He has started using a walker and can really go! The aunties were here for his madien voyage- back and forth and back and forth. Poor little guy got panting! Camden can now sit up all by himself without any help. He has been working on that hard! We are glad he has accomplished it- now maybe we will have our happy Camden back. Still only one tooth for Camden, I'm sure that the other one is in there somewhere.

Our favorites right now:
Food- zuchinni pancakes! They are great with their finger foods. We even tried mini waffles today and they managed them all by themselves.
Play- Camden still likes to play with balls. I got him a bag of balls that he can sit in. Miles plays with anything that isn't technically a toy. Butt cream, baby gates, carpet fuzz. Toys don't really hold his attention (unless Camden is holding it).

Philosophy in life:
Miles- "If at first you don't succeed- push harder."
Camden- "If at first you don't succeed- wait for someone to come help you."

"Did Mom ever tell you that I like to play with balls?"

Miles thought this football as a top was pretty funny. I have had no luck finding a top for him to play with.

Some Camden giggles...

Here he is!!

Cough? That's not a cough!

I have no idea why this is so funny...

But it is :)

Playtime!

Bowling Green has an indoor play area. We had our first visit their this week. The boys had a good time. I think that they will really enjoy it as they grow older. It has been so hot! It was nice to get out somewhere and play.
"Really? We can play where ever we want to?"
Camden was very proud of himself. He used this cube as a walker and walked close to 3 feet! Good job C!

This was a really cute picture. But Miles was too fast (or Mom was too slow).

Here I come!
There he goes!

Here I come again!

"So like I was saying..."

"this place is great!"

"Do you think this tastes like grape?"

"How long can I play before Miles and Daddy find me?"

More rides!

It was so popular the first time, we went back again today! It was still a hit the second time. The corvette is by far their favorite

Then we got down to business in the ice cream truck.

Strawberry, Vanilla or Chocolate?

Darn Traffic!
We hope it cools down soon so that we can have some fun outside!

Major Crankies

The boys got some shots on Thursday and it has been "major cranky" around here. Not terrible, awful bad, but you just can't figure out why they are whinning all the time. We have been staying home a lot because they just got over a cold and then there was the shots right after that. So, as this next week goes on, we are hoping that they will be feeling better and back to their old chipper selves. During all this, Camden decided it was time to cut his first two teeth. So he has an extra excuse to be cranky.
I am getting ready to go back to work and still need a few bigger clothes- things are slowly shrinking. The key word there is slowly. The boys and I ventured to the mall. I looked in 3 stores in less than 45 minutes. Power shopping! They still were more than ready to go. The mall has kiddie rides for 50 cents, so we played on a couple. This is the happiest I've seen them recently. The corvette brought immediate smiles and happiness! Maybe we could get one moved into the house.

(Sorry for the poor quality of picture, it is from my phone which is not great about pictures).

Great Dane and Chihuaua AND the TEETH

There they are! He is very proud and he likes to play with them. Hopefully Camden will have some soon. Miles's feet are just plain HUGE. If the boys grow into their feet, Miles is going to be a big boy. At the same time, Miles weighs the same thing his Dad did at the same age... so we'll see.
Eli is a very smart kitty. He has figured out if he just lays really still, Miles will go away. Kind of like a Grizzly bear.

Practicing the "pull-up" so much fun!!

It's just plain h-o-t

It has been a hot summer. While we know that fall will be busy, I hope that it will be cooler. August has started and 4 (official) weeks of vacation left, but we are definitely trying to get ahead start on our work for the fall. Our outings have been brief; we just can't bear the heat! I have been trying to get a picture of Miles' teeth, but he will either have to hold still or we will have to wait for the teeth to get bigger (I'm thinking the latter and not the previous). Our 9 month check up went well:
Miles: Weight 18 pounds, 8 ounces Height 29 inches
Camden weight 16 pounds, 9 ounces Height 29.25 inches.
Both boys are a bit small weight wise and bigger than average length, but perfect in Momma's eyes!
Up we go!

Betcha wish you could see my teeth!
