23 weeks

Camden spends a lot of time exploring his hands and feet. So much so that he gets a little irritated if he can't find them. We usually take off his socks or let his feet out of his sleep and play so that he can be entertained by them.

Miles is very independent. He takes his spoon when you are feeding him and likes to hold his sippy cup and bottle. Pretty ambitious for a 5 month old.
Both boys are eating solids now. Camden doesn't get as big a kick out of it, but I think it is growing on him. My milk supply is steadily decreasing, so the boys are getting more formula and "real" food. I look forward to the day that they can say, "I'm hungry" and "I'm full." I still feel like it is a guessing game. We are very proud of ourselves to have made it this far. 5 months of breastfeeding! Kudos to mom's who make it farther, it is by far the hardest thing I have ever done.

5 months old

Mom said she was going to start me on solids- do you think this is what she met?

We're looking forward to playing in the pool this summer! Mom bought us these hats, do you think the other kids will make fun of us? (aren't they c-u-t-e?)

It is hard to believe that 5 months have passed since the boys were born. It seems like they have always been with us. We are looking forward to each new milestone- they are always lots of fun!
Sleeping has been better- but I think what Mom and Dad have learned from this is that we are changing constantly and to be patient with us. Miles is currently still in the "den." He is sleeping better, but it is a balance, do we put them back together? BIG fears of disrupting this balance.

Greg was pretending to crawl around- this cracked Miles up! He got laughing so hard, he fell over.

I need longer arms

Those of you who know little Camden, know that his "wingspan" is large. We really think we may have the next Micheal Phelps here. But the way he is eyeballing Miles' toy (after he already had two), was just too FUNNY!
Both boys had a good check up last week.
Miles weighs 14 lbs., 14 ounces
Camden weighs 13 lbs., 3 ounces
We think Miles was trying to "make weight" because he hadn't pooped in 3 days before he got weighed and then pooped several times later that afternoon.
Camden is still .25" taller than Miles. But overall, Miles just looks bigger than Camden, bigger feet, bigger hands, bigger head. Camden may be on a comeback though. He ate an additional 4 ounces last night (really rare for him to want a bottle after breastfeeding)- so we're starting cereal today. So far seems to be a hit!

March Madness

In honor of the craziness of basketball season we decided to play catch with the boys. They play as well as some Purdue players!

Disclaimer: No babies were harmed during this play- hence the profuse giggling ; )

Spring Break- Party Time!

It was Spring Break for Greg and I and needless to say, the twins have found some reason to party. Miles is nap protesting HARD. It doesn't matter if you hold him or let him lay in his crib. He cries and cries with anything that has to do with sleeping at naptime. Of course this is coming at the end of the week right before Greg and I have to go back to work and manage home time by ourselves. Fortunately it has not leaked over into nighttime too much, but usually he is so exhausted during the day that he sleeps ok at night. Camden goes to sleep, but likes short catnaps which means your putting him down all the time (and of course consequently getting him up all the time). But it is doable and he does things fairly consistently. It does make you feel terrible when they cry like that, but I suppose sometime soon they will be crying hard because they want cookies for lunch and not vegetables. Sigh. So we cover them with kisses and put them in their beds.

Old McGoodrich had a farm...

We got these extremely cute overalls for Christmas and of course just had to take some pictures.
My new favorite picture!

I know Miles has my pacifier in this pocket...

Things have been going a bit better. With twins everything is just so unpredictable. One night everyone sleeps great, the next night nobody sleeps, followed by a night where one sleeps and one doesn't. The hardest thing is that there is no pattern, so it is very difficult to make plans. One night you are up 5 times, the next one. I know that this is similar with one baby, but at the same time imagine having one that sleeps and the other one wake him up, then you are dealing with two cranky babies! Thank goodness for morning, everything seems better when the sun comes up. Another day of smiles has started.
This weekend starts daylight savings time. What a pain!! Fortunately we are on spring break this week, so we will be working our "schedule" over the next few days.

19 weeks

If I could only reach it...
As always it has been a busy, busy time. We have been sleeping a little better, but as with many things with babies it is tenacious. We're hoping things have settled down for a while and we are progressing through sleeping the night (at least until another growth spurt or teething begins)!
Milestones for this past week have been great! Miles moved on the squash and is enjoying eating. I really like feeding him- it is fun! Camden has rolled over (front-to-back)- but mom has yet to see it.
